About TRADE
TRADE is a family-run café and sandwich shop that’s been on Commercial Street for almost 12 years. It blends Melbourne-style coffee culture with New York deli energy in a cosy, industrial space.
The team are chefs first, so breakfast and lunch get the same attention as a great dinner menu. Signature items like their ten-day cured, smoked pastrami and house-made sauces are what keep people coming back.
Challenge
Managing growing office catering demand
Before Slerp, most catering orders came in over the phone, with smaller ones pushed through Deliveroo. It worked, but it meant constant back-and-forth, manual notes and chasing details.
Larger office orders were especially time-consuming to organise. The team were juggling calls, spreadsheets and delivery logistics at the same time as running a busy service.
Solution
A direct catering channel powered by Slerp
TRADE introduced Slerp as a dedicated channel for catering and larger orders. Customers can now browse a clear menu, choose the right trays and sides, pick a time and checkout in a few clicks.
Slerp handles the ordering flow and logistics, so the team spend less time on the phone and more time on what they do best: smoking pastrami, building sandwiches and looking after guests.
Results
Smoother service, stronger catering engine
With Slerp in place, office catering orders are easier to manage and less reliant on marketplaces. Bigger, repeat orders now come through a branded, direct channel instead of high-commission apps.
The team have more headspace during service, and there’s room to keep growing catering without overwhelming the operation as new store openings and menu development continue.
